Copy of a contract dated April 20, 1637 in Seville, Spain before notary Juan Fernando de Ojeda, in which Domingo de Fonseca, owner and captain of the ship San Juan Baptista, recognizes and accepts his obligation to repay a loan of 24,000 reales made to him by Pedro Ximenez de Enciso for the purpose of outfitting his ship which is about to leave on a voyage to Angola to buy slaves that will be sold in New Spain. The copy was made and notarized by Felipe de Santiago on April 1, 1639 in Sevilla. Countersignatures are dated April 2, 1639.
